Dragon’s loss is Frolicon’s gain! We’re resurrecting an old favorite, the Betty Page look-a-like contest, celebration of the life and lifestyle of that beautiful goddess of pin-up. So trim up those blunt-cut bangs and pick your favorite Betty image. We’ll choose the lovely lady that best embodies the look and attitude of Ms. Page. The Native Guides will be glad to answer any questions you have ant to sign you up for the contest.

Most Spankable Ass is back at Frolicon 2009. Evil Mike will once again be hosting Frolicon's finest showcase of delicious derrière! Is your tookus tops? Does your seat warmer really raise the temperature? Do your taillights brighten a room? Then submit it to the kind of judgment only a crowd of drunken strangers can provide and win wonderful prizes! Sign up sheets will be available at the Native Guides. We ask that contestants and alternates please show up 30 minutes before the contest. If you’re late, we will give your spot away. Men and women are judged separately, with a winner for each gender to be determined over 3 rounds. Entries are limited to 12 contestants and 6 alternates (in case anybody flakes out). 1st place Winners receive prizes including a Party Judge Wand of Judging. Prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well!

"A dynamic amalgamation of on-stage chemistry, energy and musicality," New York duo, The Gypsy Nomads, also affectionately known as Frenchy and the Punk, channel the spirit of the gypsy sound, lacing it with a cabaret, celtic and neo-medieval flavor rooted in punk, folk and the vineyards of
southern France.
From raucous, danceable old-world melodies with cheeky stories sung in english and french, to pounding, tribal-march-style drum instrumentals, this creative duo's quirky and captivating show brings the songs from their three full-length albums to life in a percussive, provocative and
theatrical way.
The duo features French-born Brit. Samantha Stephenson, whose vocals have been likened to a cross between Siouxsie Sioux and Edith Piaf and veteran of the punk scene Scott Helland on guitar. Helland's innovative live looping technique coupled with Stephenson's animated percussion produces a
sound that makes it hard to believe there are only two people on stage. "The songs are catchy and the music is addictive, perfect therapy for a world gone mad."
The Gypsy Nomads have been touring incessantly since 2005 bringing their pulse-poundin' tribute to the free spirit lifestyle to festivals that feature the fantastical and mystickal with stilt walkers, jugglers and fire throwers, as well as steampunk/sci-fi/cabaret conventions all over North America. Their 4th full- length CD, Happy Madness, hits in 2010.
